Would you love to help children grow their reading or math skills and succeed in school? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps at Vista View Elementary School in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191. Whether you want to explore a career in education, re-enter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can be a child’s hero as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps provided direct services to more than 35,000 children in more than 900 sites across the state.
As a Literacy Tutor, you’ll use research-proven strategies to help students become proficient, confident readers.
As a Math Tutor, you’ll help struggling students gain the core math skills they need to prepare for high school graduation and college enrollment.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees. With extensive training, support from onsite coaches, and evidence-based strategies, tutors are well-equipped to change lives. Tutors may earn a living allowance, education award, and federal student loan forbearance, and will have the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child.
