A new three-year contract for Superintendent Joe Gothard was unanimously approved by the seven members of the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education at their meeting on Jan. 28.
The contract starts on July 1, 2016, and continues until June 30, 2019. Gothard joined the district on July 1, 2013.
“On behalf of the board, I think we really need to be thankful as a board and as a community to have the leader we have, moving us forward with our Vision One91,” said Board member Ron Hill. “I’m really looking forward to the direction we’re headed.”
Board member Sandy Sweep commented that Gothard had accomplished much in his first three years with the district.
“We have great momentum,” she commented and said to Gothard, “Thank you for your braveness and your courage in moving us forward, and the community outreach in bringing us together and being bold — all for the sake of our children.”
Board Chair Dan Luth said it has been an exciting first three years with Gothard at the helm and added, “I’m excited to know we have another three years of your service as you continue to serve our children in a very, very exceptional manner.”
With the contract, Gothard’s salary will be $191,900 for the 2016-17 school year, a 1.7 percent increase from his current salary.
