Welcome back/to the Pond family for the 2015-16 school year. Enclosed you will find a lot of information to help prepare you and your student to have the best start possible this fall. Also, we hope to see you at the fall Meet and Greet on Thursday, September 3 for more important connections and information.
First Day of School is Tuesday, September 8 for grades 1-6 and Thursday, September 10 for Kindergarten. School hours are 8:30-2:55 pm. Students may be dropped off beginning at 8:10.
Note - Kindergartners will be asked to attend at some point during September 8 or September 9, but it will not be the traditional schedule which begins on September 10. Specific information was mailed to all kindergarten students.
Students riding the bus: That information should be mailed to you from the district. Please contact Transportation at 952-707-2067 or 2069 if you have questions.
Before/After School Care is provided by Project KIDS. If you are interested in using school-age care, please contact the Project KIDS office at 952-707-4150 or go to www.isd191.org/projectkids.
Our Breakfast/Lunch program is excellent. School meal prices are: Breakfast – $1.40 (free for students in kindergarten), Lunch - $2.40, Adult lunch, $3.70, Extra milk - $.50. Students who qualify for reduced price meal will receive free breakfast. All Kindergarten students receive free breakfast. The lunch schedule is also located on the bottom of our website www.isd191.org/gideonpond
First day folder will be sent home with all students. Please review the information inside and return the permission forms.
Conference Dates are October 8 from 4:00-8:00 p.m., October 12 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and October 13 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Stop by the Media Center on September 3 or at a later date to sign up for a conference time.
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) First Day Coffee will be in the Media Center on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. for grades 1-6 and Thursday, Sept. 10 at 8:30 for Kindergarten parents. Also, the PTO will have a booth at our September 3 Meet and Greet. Please consider contributing in some way.
50th Celebration - Help Gideon Pond turn 50 this year by honoring all of the incredible things that have occurred inside our precious walls over the past half century. We will be participating and gathering at the school before, during and after the Fire Muster Parade on Saturday, September 12. Please know you are invited and encouraged to attend this fun celebration. Ice cream and activities will also be present!
We are honored that you have chosen to send your child to our school for 2015-16. Being the newest staff member to Gideon Pond, I am in awe of the extraordinary sense of community, care, and commitment to excellence which is an impenetrable and longstanding bond in the Gideon Pond family. Thank you for playing a key role in your student’s life. They matter and you matter.
