Doug Johnson, the director of technology for Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191, was honored with the “Making IT Happen” award from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) during the organization’s annual conference in June.
Johnson, one of seven educators presented with the lifetime achievement award, was recognized for his commitment to transforming education through innovative technology integration. During his career, Johnson has worked with more than 130 organizations around the world and has held countless leadership positions, including serving on the ISTE board from 2004 to 2008. Johnson is an advocate of school librarians championing the integration of technology.
“We are fortunate to have Doug’s expertise as we move forward with Vision One91 and expand our use of instructional technology in classrooms,” said Superintendent Joe Gothard. “Doug’s focus is to increase access to technology to boost learning for all students.”
