Burnsville High School welcomes Bill Derden as the new Associate Principal for students in 11th grade.
Derden's primary areas of responsibilities will be Safety & Security, Administrator for Special Ed. Support and the Math Department, Homebound, PBIS, College Readiness Programs, Building and Grounds and AVID.
His background includes an educational specialist degree in K-12 Educational Leadership, a Master's Degree in K-12 Special Education-EBD, and a Director of Special Education license from the University of St. Thomas.
Derden also has prior administrative experience at Minneapolis Henry and North from 2005- 2010 and at Tartan High School from 2010-2012.
This will be Derden's fourth year as an Associate Principal in District 191, with the previous three years being at Burnsville Alternative High School.
Bill is very excited about being at BHS and looks forward to working with students and their families.
