BHS orientation for all students is Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The building does have several construction zones fenced off and parking is more limited. Parking for orientation will be available in the main parking lot at the front (south) side of the building and by the tennis courts (northeast side of the building). Please watch our website and your emails for updates as we get closer to orientation. During orientation, our main office and guidance office will be open so please stop by and let us know how we can be of help. Below you will find some specific information regarding class schedules, student pictures, and student parking permits. Staff from our food service department will also be available to assist with meal accounts.
STUDENT CLASS SCHEDULES
Students need to attend orientation and pick up their class schedule. Class schedules are not mailed home. If you are a senior, you must pick up your schedule so you know if you are at the senior campus in the morning or the afternoon. For all students, you need to pick up your schedule, so that if there are any questions or concerns, there is time for you to address those with your school counselor. However, remember schedule changes are not made for convenience reasons, i.e. being with friends, having a specific lunch, having a specific teacher, etc.
STUDENT PICTURES and IDs
Our school's fall picture days are August 26 and 27 during orientation from 11 a.m until 6 p.m. Student pictures will be taken in the Media Center. You visit the website at mylifetouch.com now to place orders online. The picture day ID is: MI195017Y0 (0 = zero). The online order window for this picture ID will be available until 48 hours after picture day.
All students, grades 10-12, must get their picture taken in order to receive their student ID. The student ID is provided at no cost.
We encourage you to get your picture taken at orientation. However, if you are out of town or unavailable during orientation, there is a picture make-up day scheduled for Thursday, September 10.
STUDENT PARKING PERMITS
Due to construction this year, the process for applying for a student parking permit has changed. All applications must be completed and submitted online using the link below. No paper applications will be accepted.
Only seniors and part-time PSEO students can purchase a parking permit between Tuesday, Aug. 4 and Thursday, Aug. 27. If there are any spaces remaining after this time, juniors will be able to submit an application as well.
All student permits will be sold at the main campus through Chris Beckers, Bursar, located in the attendance office. Parking permits will not be sold at the senior campus.
Additionally, there will not be any daily parking permits available this school year.
Student parking will be available in a portion of the south, front lot and in the northeast, back lot (by the tennis courts).
Due to the reduced number of student parking spaces available, we encourage our students and families to explore carpool options. There will also be after school activity buses available that pick up at Burnsville High School and transport students back to our junior high schools.
