Come out to the "Potter's All Call" on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Burnsville High School in the Art Wing (room H108).
Potter's All Call is a Saturday devoted to making ceramic bowls to support BrainPower in a BackPack, a volunteer project of ISD 191 Community Education and Burnsville High School in which high school students pack weekend food for elementary school students in ISD 191 whose families struggle to put enough food on the table. Because academic performance is related to nutrition, our goal is to improve the student learning experience for children with the greatest need in ISD 191.
At Potter's All Calls, community and student potters make beautiful ceramic bowls. Student leaders will help those with little or no experience working with clay to make hand built bowls. Even if you have no experience, volunteers are needed to make clay balls, wash tools, dry bowls and clean up. If you'd like to help on any of the All Call days, contact Fay Finn or Tim Hammes.
Can't volunteer for Potter's All Call? No problem! Food is always a big hit on Potter's All Call days. If you're unable to volunteer, we would really appreciate donations of chips, fruit, granola bars, snacks or cookies for our volunteers and potters. We thank you in advance for your donations.
