Metcalf theater presents 'Pieces' beginning Jan. 15

Cassie Berglund and Henry Smalstig rehearse a scene from 'Pieces.'

Directed by Steve Orth, Metcalf Junior High drama students will present "Pieces," a series of vignettes written by Orth about difficult situations teenagers may face.

The play was featured by the Pioneer Press.

"Pieces" explores several teen-age lives, both their public personas and private pain. The most important question isn’t “who are they,” “where are they,” or “why are they like this.” No, the most significant goal we can strive to reach is understanding just how much—or how little—we can do to reach them in time. Inspired by actual young people, this serious play seeks to enhance the vision and impact the actions of both the performers and their audience.

"Pieces" will be presented Jan. 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. at Metcalf Junior High. Tickets are $6. The show is recommended for audience members 12 and older because of the topics presented.
