Families can now enroll students in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 through a new online system. The online enrollment system allows families to go through the process of enrolling a child in District 191 schools, including submitting all necessary forms and documents.
Parents will also find helpful and convenient information about which school their child will attend, what information they will need to provide, and what steps they need to take before their child starts school.
“We know that it’s not always convenient for parents to come in to our Welcome Center to enroll, so this system will let them go through the process on their time,” said Connie Erickson, District 191 director of Technology and Information Systems. “At the same time, we’ll always have people available at the Welcome Center to answer questions or help parents through enrollment.”
As parents complete each enrollment step, the system saves their progress so they can pause any time and come back later to finish.
Created with TIES, an organization that provides education technology such as the SchoolView parent portal, the new system will eventually tie directly into the district’s student database, making enrollment more efficient and effective from the district’s perspective, too.
Online enrollment was piloted at two schools in January and feedback from a parent survey resulted in some modifications before it was launched districtwide. Currently, the online enrollment process is only in English but other languages will be added.
Online enrollment is available at www.isd191.org/enroll. The district’s Welcome Center is located in the lower level Diamondhead Education Center and can be reached at (952) 707-4180 or email@example.com.
