Voting Information

There are many ways to vote in the District 191 referendum, including by mail, in person before Election Day, and in person on Election Day.

Where and how you vote may be different based on whether you live in Dakota County or Scott County. Please read below to see what’s available to you.

If you live in Dakota County, you can:

Vote by Mail

Note: Because this takes time, please send in your application as soon as possible

Vote in Person Before Election Day

Go to District 191 Diamondhead Education Center between Sept. 22 and Nov. 6 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; extended hours until 6 p.m. on Nov. 1-3 and until 5 p.m. on Nov. 6). To vote, enter Door #1 in the upper Level, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville, MN 55337.

Vote in Person On Election Day, Nov. 7

Go to your polling place to cast your vote. Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.

If you live in Scott County, you can:    

Vote by Mail

  • Download & print the Scott County Absentee Ballot Application
  • Complete the application and return it to Scott County Elections, 200 4th Ave. W, Shakopee, MN 55379 or fax to: 952-496-8174.
  • You will be sent a ballot with instructions on how to complete your vote

Vote in Person Before Election Day

Go to the Scott County Government Center between Sept. 22 and Nov. 6, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The building is located at 200 4th Ave. W, Shakopee, MN 55379, and voting takes place in Room GC112.

Vote in Person On Election Day, Nov. 7

Go to your polling place to cast your vote. Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.

Register to Vote

Are you registered to vote?  If not, visit the Minnesota Secretary of the State’s website where you can register to vote. You just need your Driver’s License number, ID Card number, or the last four digits of your social security number.
